1. Return Eligibility

Returns are accepted only under the following circumstances:

  • The item received is incorrect; or
  • The item arrives damaged or defective.

To qualify for a return, customers must notify The Pet Sleuth within 7 calendar days of delivery confirmation.

All returned items must:

  • Be unused and in original condition;
  • Include original packaging, tags, manuals, and accessories where applicable;
  • Be accompanied by proof of purchase or order confirmation.

The Pet Sleuth reserves the right to deny any return request that does not meet the conditions outlined in this policy.

2. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or refund unless prohibited by law:

  • Products showing signs of use, wear, or alteration;
  • Items damaged due to customer misuse, negligence, or improper handling;
  • Clearance, final sale, or marked non-returnable items;
  • Personalized or custom-made products;
  • Perishable products or consumable pet items where safety or sanitation may be compromised.

3. Return Authorization Required

All returns require prior authorization from The Pet Sleuth.

Customers must contact our support team before sending any item back. Unauthorized returns may be refused and returned to sender at the customer’s expense.

When requesting a return, customers may be required to provide:

  • Order number;
  • Description of the issue;
  • Clear photographs of the product and packaging;
  • Shipping label and delivery information if applicable.

4. Return Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, including but not limited to:

  • Original shipping charges;
  • Return shipping fees;
  • Packaging costs;
  • Insurance or tracking fees;
  • Any applicable processing or restocking expenses.

Shipping charges are non-refundable unless otherwise required by applicable law.

We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping method, as The Pet Sleuth is not responsible for lost or damaged return shipments.

5. Refunds & Store Credit

All refund requests are subject to review, approval, and the sole discretion of The Pet Sleuth.

If a return is approved, The Pet Sleuth may choose to provide:

  • A replacement product;
  • Store credit; or
  • A monetary refund.

Store credit may be issued in lieu of a monetary refund at our discretion.

Where monetary refunds are approved, any applicable shipping charges, payment processing fees, restocking fees, or other associated costs may be deducted from the refund amount to the extent permitted by law.

Refunds, store credits, or replacements will only be processed after returned merchandise has been received and inspected.

6. Damaged or Incorrect Orders

If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, you must contact The Pet Sleuth within 7 calendar days of delivery.

Failure to report the issue within this timeframe may result in denial of the claim.

Please retain all original packaging materials, as they may be required for claim verification or carrier inspection.

7. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Customers agree to contact The Pet Sleuth directly to resolve any issue before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with their financial institution.

Fraudulent chargebacks or abuse of the return process may result in refusal of future service and additional action where permitted by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Pet Sleuth shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of products purchased through our website.

Our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the applicable product.

9. Policy Updates

The Pet Sleuth reserves the right to modify or update this Return & Refund Policy at any time without prior notice. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to the website.
